Larping like its the 1990s
Greetings, My name is Dennis. This is my personal page, I didn't like the modern internet so I made my own. I tend to update this like a journal, if you feel like seeing more of my stuff, check out my Youtube Channel. I'm not here to do anything really special, just to keep my schizo rambleings in one place. Ignore all the misspellings, please.
My Thoughts:
Didn't think I would be updating this today, but thought I would share this before I go through with it. I'm still on the hunt for the orginal photos of the slenderman image, my newest idea is to give the images colour. Doing this revealed to me that slenderman himself actualy has human skin, and isn't white. This proves to me that the original images might be in actually in colour? Is a shot in the dark but it might work in things like tineye, I'll check all possible outcomes and post them here, see you then!
Hey, its me Dennis again. With this post I'd like to start a series of going into some random "horro" stories from around the web, ever since I was a good I always loved a good spooky story. Something like scary stories to tell in the dark with that creepy mountain clown thing. Anyways, why don't we get right into it?
For those who are unaware, Webkinz was a game similar to HabboHotel, or the sims but with dogs and cats instead of people. The game was targeted to kids to raise and take care of their very own online pet, now personally I've never touched it, neither anyone who I know has but I digress. As kids tend to do, rumors about secrets or myth always start on the playground. This is where the "Webkinz Killer" got its start. (please note: the term "Webkinz Killer" seems more to be a catch-all term for any voilence related on the site). The rumor has many diffrent stories, but heres the general story. It's said if you go to Dr. Quacks (the webkinz doctor) office and angry enough, calling in a home vist at night, clicking something enough, it doesn't really matter. He would kill you pet in a grousome way. It's also rumored that a "Black Box" containing a stary animal will apear in your home, if you don't leave the room quickly enough, your pet will be attacked and killed.
Now heres what I know you're asking, Is it real?
HELL NO! This is a 101 example of the "red eyes" craze I like to call back in the early 00s, heres an example. Do you remember thoe creepypastas about a haunted version of a game that had hyper-realistic blood on all the characters? Yeah, its pretty much that, I was a stupid kid back in the day but I could not see my self actually falling for this. I did some small research for this, and it says that there might have been a virus? Old forum posts talk about parents hearing their kids talk about a "Duck Virus" which all thing considered, a virus on its own is already pretty scary lol. Anyways, thats my 2 cents. I would like to cover more horror story stuff on here, even though I never played this game. While I was looking into it I did get a weird feeling of nostalgia, I guess 00s stuff just gets to me lol. Anywho, see you all soon!
I come back with good news! SmileBuddy is officaly working on windows 11, its was pretty simple to setup all things considerd. Frank did most of the work lol I was really only a "beta tester" for the project. If anyone is itrested I can quickly throw everything together into a download for all to enjoy, do note however the some of the fuctions still don't work, as it was basically discontinued in '03 I think.
Heres a screenshot of him in action!
It is currently 4:26 AM as I write this. (Note to self: Stop staying up so damn late, you might start to see shit). Sorry for being so long without an update on this guy, but I've actual might be able to get him working on my windows 11 PC so I wont have to always use a virtual machine. So I guess stay tunned for that! Also, I'd like to clairify in my last screenshot of him I am not using Windows 98, I'm using XP. I just like the solid background of 98 more than the landscape of XP, just my personal preference. Anyways, will post updates when ready aswell as maybe a couple of screenshots if I ever remember that.
Hey would you look at that? I finally found out how to put the image in the center of the website, I've aslo just been fixing up random stuff around here. Anyways, I've got another update on SmileBuddy, I've just been messing around with him. Seeing whats working, and I'll actually go into that because I think some people are confuseed about it. The SmileBuddy program is kind of broken, me and Frank have been able to put together the broken peices and get it to work, I have no idea how much is lost or broken and what isn't? But I guess we'll have to wait and see. Right now its just been sitting in the virtual machine looking back and forth. I'll post a couple of screenshots later today. See you then!
It's currenly 6:33 as I write this, anywho. Remeber SmileBuddy, well I've gotten him to work! Yeah really, on a virtual machine me and Frank set up and got working. Right now hes still really jank, most of his sprites are just missing or called "TEMP" I'm guessing they where making a 3D model of the little guy but used drawings to sketch out his proportions. Right now I haven't done anything major, he does open a fillout sheet of for your user name and e-mail? But I haven't filled those out at all, if anything I'm using a phony one. Being enterly honest, he is kinda cute I could see like me at 8 getting a plushie of him.
Here's a screenshot of him working.
During creation of the video, I was thinking of somethings that I wanted to write down. So here it is.
We create our own horror; our minds do the work for us with our creativity. It is a blessing, while also being a curse; the uncanny valley was likely born out of fear of the Neanderthals that walked the Earth with our primal ancestors. They created stories and let the concept fester within their minds enough for it to be a natural effect on us today. The same can be said with things like "This Man" (I'll just be saying This Man for convenience's sake); the concept alone is so terrifying enough for our brains to be scared, and then when we finally go to bed, our brains piece together what our waking moments were. It pieces together moments, and then this man appears, and we think it's real, but it's truly just a psychological reason. So, to conclude this, this man is not a real thing (duh), but the concept and effect it has on us are.
I hope you enjoyed my little concept, I'm really into phycology and the things that make our brains work, also update on that SmileBuddy thing. I managed to get a somewhat working version, but I had to get my friend to edit it alot (thanks Frank) gonna be messing with it tommorow or this weekend.
Happy St. Patricks Day, even though I'm Canadian I still got pretty strong Irish roots in my blood. Anyways, I'll be makigna new video today about creepypasta and the mental effect they have on people, I'll talk about stuff like "Have You Seen This Man" and other related things, so stay tuned
I've started to dip my toes into virtual machines, why? I don't know really, I guess what I see SomeOrdinaryGamers does is kinda cool. But I'd like to talk about those buddies back in the old internet, like Rover, or BonziBuddy. I've always had a fond place for them in my heart and I call them "Web Helpers" they really showed the divided between 90s, and 00s internet lol. But I think I found a lost one of those, its something called "SmileBuddy" clearly a rip of BonziBuddy. So far, I haven't been able to get it working on my current machine, so I'll try my laptop, and then a virtual machine. I'll post what I find.
I've made my first video on Youtube, well "first" is a lie, I've made a channel or two wayyyy back before any of this stuff. I think all I was upload a couple Garry's Mod animations I threw together in like 10 minutes, hey maybe I'll upload those if I can find them? Anyways, check out the video. Thanks.
Trying to find the origins of the Slenderman photos
My first "post" on this, made a custom graphic for the page, and am finally learning HTML shit. hope my friends see this lol.
